Middle Ear
Summary
The
middle ear
is an
air-filled cavity
within the
temporal bone
that transmits
sound vibrations
from the
outer ear
to the
inner ear
. It contains the ossicles, three
tiny bones
called the malleus, incus, and stapes, which amplify and
convey sound waves
to the cochlea for
auditory processing
.
