Atmospheric deposition is the process by which pollutants and other particles in the atmosphere settle onto the Earth's surface, impacting ecosystems and human health. It includes both wet deposition, where substances are removed from the atmosphere via precipitation, and dry deposition, where they settle out of the air in the absence of precipitation.
