Concept
Red Blood Cell Maturation 0
Red blood cell maturation, also known as erythropoiesis, is a complex process where hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow differentiate and mature into fully functional erythrocytes. This process is tightly regulated by erythropoietin and involves multiple stages, including proerythroblast, basophilic erythroblast, polychromatic erythroblast, orthochromatic erythroblast, and reticulocyte stages before becoming a mature red blood cell.
