Concept
Parietal Pericardium 0
The parietal pericardium is the tough, fibrous outer layer of the pericardial sac that encloses the heart, providing protection and anchoring it within the thoracic cavity. It works in conjunction with the visceral pericardium, or epicardium, to form the pericardial cavity, which contains a small amount of lubricating fluid to minimize friction during heartbeats.
