Lewis And Clark Expedition 0
The Lewis and Clark Expedition, commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson after the Louisiana Purchase, was a pivotal exploration mission from 1804 to 1806 that mapped the newly acquired western territories of the United States and sought a water route to the Pacific Ocean. This journey significantly enhanced American geographical knowledge, established U.S. presence in the west, and fostered relations with Native American tribes, despite also marking the beginning of increased tensions and eventual displacement of indigenous peoples.
