The Hijri Year, also known as the Islamic or lunar year, is a calendar system used by Muslims to determine religious events and is based on lunar cycles, consisting of 354 or 355 days. It began in 622 CE with the Hijra, the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina, marking the start of the Islamic calendar.
