Flue Gas Desulfurization 0
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) is a set of technologies used to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) from exhaust flue gases of fossil-fuel power plants, reducing air pollution and acid rain. The most common method is wet scrubbing, which involves a reaction between the sulfur compounds and a sorbent, usually lime or limestone, to produce a disposable byproduct like gypsum.
