An endergonic reaction is a chemical process where the energy required to break bonds in the reactants is greater than the energy released when new bonds form in the products, resulting in a net absorption of energy. These reactions are non-spontaneous and require an input of energy, often in the form of ATP, to proceed in biological systems.
