Dispersion forces, also known as London Dispersion forces, are weak intermolecular forces arising from temporary fluctuations in electron density, which induce temporary dipoles in molecules or atoms. These forces are present in all molecular interactions, particularly significant in nonpolar substances, and increase with greater molecular size and surface area.
