Depositions are Sworn out-of-court testimonies used to gather information during the Discovery phase of litigation, allowing attorneys to assess the Strengths and weaknesses of a case. They provide an opportunity to obtain Witness statements, which can be used for Trial Preparation or as evidence if the Witness is unavailable during the trial.
