A cathode-ray tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns and a phosphorescent screen, used to display images by modulating electron beams onto the screen. It was a fundamental technology for early television and computer monitors before being largely replaced by more modern display technologies like LCD and OLED.
