Blanching is a cooking process where food, usually vegetables or fruits, is briefly immersed in boiling water and then rapidly cooled in ice water to halt the cooking process. This technique helps in preserving color, texture, and nutritional value while also making it easier to peel or prepare the food for further cooking or freezing.
