The voting paradox, also known as Condorcet's paradox, occurs when collective preferences can be cyclic, even if individual preferences are not, leading to a situation where no option is the most preferred by the group. This paradox highlights the potential inconsistencies in majority rule voting systems, where the aggregation of individual preferences does not necessarily result in a clear, collective decision.
