Uncertainty Avoidance is a cultural dimension identified by Geert Hofstede that describes the extent to which members of a society feel uncomfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, leading them to support beliefs and behaviors that promise certainty and conformity. High Uncertainty Avoidance cultures tend to have strict rules and regulations, while low Uncertainty Avoidance cultures are more relaxed and open to change.
