Concept
Swap space is a portion of a hard disk drive or solid-state drive that is used to extend the apparent amount of RAM available on a computer by temporarily holding data that is not actively being used. This allows the system to handle more processes simultaneously, but accessing data from Swap space is slower than accessing it from RAM, which can lead to decreased performance if overused.
