Supercharging is a method of increasing an engine's power output by forcing more air into the combustion chamber, which allows more fuel to be burned and thus increases engine efficiency and performance. Unlike turbocharging, which uses exhaust gases to drive a turbine, supercharging typically uses a belt-driven compressor, providing immediate power boost with minimal lag.
