The Stretch-Shortening Cycle (SSC) is a natural muscle function during dynamic movements where muscles undergo an initial stretch (eccentric action) followed by a shortening (concentric action), enhancing force production and efficiency. This cycle leverages the elastic properties of muscle and tendon, as well as neuromuscular reflexes, to improve performance in activities like jumping, sprinting, and throwing.
