Concept
Stemmatics is a scholarly method used to reconstruct the original text of a document by analyzing and comparing its various surviving versions, often called manuscripts. This technique involves creating a 'stemma,' or family tree, which visually represents the relationships and errors among the manuscripts to identify the most authentic version possible.
