Spinocerebellar Ataxias 0
Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs) are a group of genetic disorders characterized by progressive problems with movement due to degeneration of the cerebellum and sometimes the spinal cord. These conditions are inherited in an autosomal dominant manner, meaning only one copy of the altered gene in each cell is sufficient to cause the disorder, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can include poor coordination, difficulty walking, and speech problems.
