Sound diffraction is the bending and spreading of sound waves around obstacles and through openings, a phenomenon that enables us to hear sounds even when the source is not directly in the line of sight. This behavior is influenced by the wavelength of the sound relative to the size of the obstacle or aperture, being more pronounced in sounds with longer wavelengths such as low-frequency sounds.
