Safe Sleep Guidelines are designed to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related infant deaths by providing parents and caregivers with evidence-based recommendations. These guidelines emphasize the importance of placing babies on their backs to sleep, using a firm sleep surface, and keeping soft objects and loose bedding out of the baby's sleep area to create a safe sleeping environment.
