The Random-Effects Model is a statistical approach used in meta-analysis and other contexts where data is assumed to come from different populations, allowing for the estimation of both within-study and between-study variation. It is particularly useful when the studies being analyzed are not functionally identical and aims to generalize findings beyond the specific studies included in the analysis.
