Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a progressive disorder characterized by high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, leading to right heart failure and potentially death if untreated. It is often idiopathic but can be associated with connective tissue diseases, congenital heart defects, or exposure to certain drugs and toxins.
