Concept
A vacuum is a space devoid of matter, where the pressure is significantly lower than atmospheric pressure, often achieved artificially in laboratory settings. It plays a crucial role in various scientific and industrial applications, including physics experiments, electronics manufacturing, and space exploration.
An ideal vacuum is a theoretical space devoid of all particles, matter, and pressure, representing absolute nothingness. This concept forms an important baseline in physics, yet in practice, it is unattainable, as even the best vacuums contain a few scattered atoms or particles and exhibit quantum fluctuations.
