Network centrality is a measure used in network analysis to quantify the relative importance of a node within a network, reflecting the level of influence or connectivity a node has. Different types of centrality highlight various aspects of a node's influence, such as how many direct connections it has, how often it lies on the shortest path between other nodes, or how close it is to all other nodes in the network.
