Concept
Low-molecular-weight Heparins 0
Low-molecular-weight heparins (LMWHs) are a class of anticoagulant medications derived from unfractionated heparin, offering a more predictable anticoagulant response and reduced need for monitoring. They are widely used for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, due to their subcutaneous administration and lower risk of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia.
