Concept
Libby Half-life 0
The Libby half-life, named after Willard Libby, refers to the estimated half-life of radiocarbon (C-14) used in radiocarbon dating, originally calculated as 5,568 years. This value was later revised to 5,730 years, but the original Libby half-life is still used in some contexts for consistency with historical data and calibration curves.
