International Health Regulations (IHR) are a legally binding framework adopted by 196 countries to prevent, protect against, control, and provide a public health response to the international spread of diseases. They aim to enhance national, regional, and global public health security by improving the capacity of all countries to detect, assess, report, and respond to public health threats.
