Image thresholding is a technique used in digital image processing to convert a grayscale image into a binary image by setting a threshold value; pixels with intensity above this value are set to one value (often white), and those below are set to another (often black). It is widely used in image segmentation and object detection, as it simplifies the analysis by reducing the image data to essential features.
