A hybrid kernel integrates features from both monolithic and Microkernel architectures, aiming to achieve a balance between performance and modularity. It combines the speed and efficient resource management of a monolithic kernel with the extensibility and stability of a microkernel, often by running the essential system services in kernel space while maintaining many higher-level services in user space.
