Concept
Hearing Mechanism 0
The hearing mechanism involves the conversion of sound waves into electrical signals that the brain can interpret, beginning with the outer ear capturing sound and funneling it through the ear canal to the eardrum. This process continues as vibrations are transmitted through the ossicles in the middle ear to the cochlea in the inner ear, where hair cells convert these mechanical vibrations into neural signals sent to the auditory cortex via the auditory nerve.
