Commodity Fetishism 0
Commodity fetishism is a concept introduced by Karl Marx to describe the phenomenon where the social relationships between people are expressed as value relationships between commodities, making the commodities appear to have a life of their own. This obscures the labor and social relations behind the production of goods, leading to a misperception of commodities as possessing intrinsic value independent of the human labor that produced them.
