The comedolytic effect refers to the ability of certain agents to prevent or reduce the formation of comedones, which are skin lesions commonly associated with acne. This effect is achieved by promoting the shedding of skin cells and preventing the clogging of pores, thereby improving skin texture and reducing acne symptoms.
