A closed quantum system is one that doesn't exchange matter or energy with its surroundings, enabling the study of the system's intrinsic quantum behaviors without external interference. In such systems, the total energy is conserved, and the evolution is purely determined by the system's Hamiltonian according to the Schrödinger equation.
