The cervical plexus is a network of nerves formed by the anterior rami of the first four cervical spinal nerves (C1-C4) located in the neck region. It provides motor and sensory innervation to parts of the neck, head, and shoulders, and includes the important phrenic nerve which controls the diaphragm for breathing.
