CD4 T-cells, also known as helper T-cells, play a crucial role in the immune system by orchestrating the body's response to pathogens. They do this by activating other immune cells, such as B cells to produce antibodies and macrophages to destroy ingested microbes, and by producing cytokines that modulate the immune response.
