Concept
Carotid Endarterectomy 0
Carotid endarterectomy is a surgical procedure designed to remove plaque from the carotid artery to prevent stroke in patients with significant carotid artery stenosis. It is typically recommended for patients with symptomatic stenosis of 70% or greater, or asymptomatic stenosis of 80% or greater, when the risk of stroke outweighs the surgical risks.
