Block Maxima Method 0
The Block Maxima Method is a statistical approach used in extreme value theory to model the distribution of the maximum value within a block of data, often applied to environmental and financial data to predict rare events. By dividing a dataset into non-overlapping blocks and selecting the maximum value from each block, the method enables the fitting of a Generalized Extreme Value distribution to estimate the probability of extreme occurrences.
