Concept
Acute Phase Response 0
The acute phase response is an immediate, early-phase systemic reaction of the body to tissue injury, infection, or inflammation, characterized by the production of acute phase proteins like C-reactive protein and serum amyloid A. This response is mediated by cytokines such as IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-alpha, which induce metabolic and physiological changes to restore homeostasis and promote healing.
