Marine Isotope Stages (MIS) are alternating Warm and cold periods in Earth's paleoclimate derived from Oxygen isotope data obtained from Deep-Sea Sediment Cores. These stages are used to understand Past Climate changes and to provide a Timeline for Earth's Climatic history over several million years.
